Dilemma: Cooking for a crowd!
Are any of you familiar with cooking for a crowd? I'm having a graduation party for my son on Friday. I cooked 32# of pork and ended up with about 18# of pulled pork for BBQ sandwiches. How many buns do you think I should buy? I'm having meatballs and chicken too, but I have no idea how many sandwiches I can get out of 18# of pork. LOL I just don't want to end up lacking enough buns or left holding a massive amount of buns, either. And the hard part is, I just have no way of knowing how many will be there. People will just drop in.

I could guess 5 sandwiches per lb.
I do not envy you, in 2006 we did a grad party for Kristin, I sent out 200 invites, expecting maybe half to show. EVERY Danged one of them showed, with family!

Erin, I know! This is a Friday evening, too. I've already had people telling me it's great to have it on a Friday rather than a Saturday or Sunday because there aren't other parties that day! We have 3 parties today alone, and we'll just graze at each one, but if we only had one - we would really eat!
I am gonna call MIL and beg her to make more meatballs. LOL

I have no idea. Wish I could help, but I can't. I can tell you that unless you put out a few sharpies and a sign for them to label their cups, each person will use 3 or 4 cups over the course of the party. Plates aren't so bad, but they go through cups as if one sip makes it dangerous to ever use again. And 2-liters are a lot cheaper than cans if people will reuse their cup.
