One of you girls who shops RA
My Rite Aid never has the glucose meters/monitors when they have a free after rebate deal.
Would one of you have one that you would mind sparing? (i would pay shipping) it would have to be one that the strips aren't expensive to buy. I noticed in my RA this weekend that there are some meters that the strips are only $6.-$7. per box of 100, I would be looking for one that the cost of the strips is comparable.
I currently don't have medical insurance for myself. It's one of those things that we make too much for me to get Mainecare, but not enough to cover the cost when added to my husbands insurance plan through work. The kids get Mainecare because their real father is a deadbeat dad who doesn't pay child support. But I am not eligible. I suspect through some indicators that I may have sugar problems and would be interested to check my blood sugar on a regular basis to see if there is a problem or not. Everytime they have a free after rebate thing at Rite Aid for one of these, they never have any in stock. I am always told that I must have just missed the last one on the shelf. Grr... I thought I would ask just in case someone might have a few and would be able to part with one. Thanks

I have one of these, and this link is for one free if you qualify. Not sure how much the strips are. I also have a "freestyle, by bayer" you are welcome to it, but I have NO idea how much the strips are, it is NIB. I get approx 3 a year from the ins co, and I don't use them...

I don't have one handy, but I don't mind getting one to send to you. PM me what you want if it turns out that Erin's is not what you need.
Re: One of you girls who shops RA
lol, this just goes to show how much I know about this stuff, the things I saw in the store for $6.-$7.00 were the lancets, the test strips for most of these are almost $30.00 dollars for 50 of them, but it may be worth it to get some, especially if I find by testing that my sugar is consistently high. Sure Erin the Freestyle would be great, I'm PMing you right now...

Be careful when you test, stress can raise it!
