I think I should start a blog

Just one of daily things, and Bnuts proclivities. I swear that kid is throwed off....for example this morning, she was getting out of the car at school with her big heavy fleece jacket. here is how the conversation went:

Me: Do you really need that jacket?
Bnut: it's COLD
Me: Um, the a/c is on in the car
Bnut; OH, but it is cold outside
Me: um, no, the air is on in the car because it is 70 degrees. Did you not notice when you walked to the car in your short sleeves that it was rather warm this morning?
Bnut: NO, I don't notice things like that....
Me: Um, yeah, whatever....

So when she has a heat stroke from wearing that jacket i will say i warned her.

Of course I grew up here where it was freezing and I was far too cool for a coat so I would wait for the bus in short sleeves when it was 20 degrees thinking I would die but not willing to admit it.

I enjoy blogging. It's soothing.

and yes, since I started blogging I tend to be a little more laid back. LIke when my kids get accused of being terrorists, I dont freak all the way out. Instead I am able to say "hmmmm, I need to take notes, so I can blog about this"

or if they have me at the end of my rope, I can write it all down, find the funny in it and I dont want to strangle them quite as badly.

I think it will be really good for you when you are building the house, you can bitch and write it all down, and then find something amusing

Pardon my non-technological mind; but how does one get started in creating a blog?

It's actually very easy and not too technical. You pick a company that hosts free blogs (I use www.blogspot.com but there are several) and create an account like you would at any other website. You have to pick a name for your blog that no one is using. You can use one of several basic layouts, style, and colors or just ignore that and leave it in the default layout. Then anytime you want to write, you log in, click where it says new post, and write. When you're done you click publish and it posts it to your blog.

Are the blog sites a good place to use to set up a website? I want to get a site going, but I don't have money to pay someone else.

I don't understand all that domain stuff. I can't speak for others but blogger is free.

There are lots of free blog sites, so never pay to start one. In fact, you can put advertisements on your blog and get paid to write it. I don't have many people visit mine and I do it mostly for fun, so I haven't done that yet. I probably will soon, though. With the economy this bad, I can use every extra penny.

I never tried to have a website, so I can't help you there.

you can get free websites. I have one through microsoft. office live or some such..
I also have one through my ISP. but you have to do FTL client or what ever to upload to it. its a pITA.

and yes blogs are free too.

Yes, I see on this page at the bottom....sometimes it says Create A Blog or Free Blog. I have looked at google, may give that a try.

There are also free websites like www.freewebs.com. I've been with them for years. Domain names are not very expensive either. Some go for around $8.00.

Chelle, on the other hand, should be paid to blog. I swear I never laugh so hard at other things as I do her posts.

I have like five or six and just started another one yesterday which I had better post something on but right now I am hungry. So I have to go out and get something to eat. It's all Erin's fault too.
