The next time you hear a politician use the word "billion" in a casual
manner, think about whether this is who you want spending your tax money.

A billion is a difficult number to comprehend, but one advertising agency did
a good job of putting that figure into some perspective in one of its releases.

a. A billion seconds ago it was 1959.

b. A billion minutes ago Jesus was alive.

c. A billion hours ago our ancestors were living in the Stone Age.

d. A billion days ago no-one walked on the earth on two feet.

e. A billion dollars ago was only 8 hours and 20 minutes, at the rate our
government is spending it.

While this thought is still fresh in our brain, let's take a look at what is happening with the 85 billion that we gave to AIG.
The first week after recieving the bailout money, they spent $440,000 on a retreat at a luxurious California resort on your tax money. When is the last time you vacationed at a plus resort anywhere?

And though reports show that Congress is upset and looking for answers, todays news story tells of
A.I.G. getting an additional $37.8 Billion to help it deal with a rapidly dwindling supply of cash.

Is this amazing or what?

Washington, D.C. HELLO!!!... Obviously you are not looking out for my best interest.

STOP GIVING AWAY MY MONEY!!!!

This is too true to be very funny...

Tax his land,
Tax his wage,
Tax his bed in which he lays.

Tax his tractor,
Tax his mule,
Teach him taxes are the rule.

Tax his cow,
Tax his goat,
Tax his pants,
Tax his coat.

Tax his ties,
Tax his shirts,
Tax his work,
Tax his dirt.

Tax his tobacco,
Tax his drink,
Tax him if he tries to think.

Tax his booze,
Tax his beers,
If he cries,
Tax his tears.

Tax his bills,
Tax his gas,
Tax his notes,
Tax his cash.

Tax him good
and let him know
That after taxes, he has no dough.

If he hollers,
Tax him more,
Tax him until he's good and sore.

Tax his coffin,
Tax his grave,
Tax the sod in which he lays.

Put these words upon his tomb,
"Taxes drove me to my doom!"

And when he's gone,
We won't relax,
We'll still be after the inheritance TAX!!

This is kinda inline with that. AND its NON partisan. SO I feel liek it shouldnt cause a stir. Please note, I am NOT posting this to start a presidental debate. We all agree'd it would be best to keep it off here. Wink

I havent ran these numbers, but its plain english. and this is JUST the AIG bail out. The FIRST one. not including the addtional 35 they gave them last week, OR the 700B they are gona use for the others.

Subject: The Birk Plan

Hi All,

I'm against the $85,000,000,000.00 bailout of AIG.
Instead, I'm in favor of giving $85,000,000,000 to
America in a 'We Deserve It Dividend'.

To make the math simple, let's assume there are 200,000,000 bonifide
U.S. Citizens 18+.

Our population is about 301,000,000 +/- counting every man, woman and
child. So 200,000,000 might be a fair stab at adults 18 and up.

So divide 200 million adults 18+ into $85 billon that equals $425,000.00.

My plan is to give $425,000 to every person 18+ as a 'We Deserve It Dividend'.

Of course, it would NOT be tax free. So let's assume a tax rate of
30%.

Every individual 18+ has to pay $127,500.00 in taxes. That sends
$25,500,000,000 right back to Uncle Sam.

But it means that every adult 18+ has $297,500.00 in their pocket. A
husband and wife has $595,000.00.

What would you do with $297,500.00 to $595,000.00 in your family?

Pay off your mortgage, housing crisis solved.
Repay college loans, what a great boost to new grads
Put away money for college, it'll be there
Save in a bank, create money to loan to entrepreneurs.
Buy a new car, create jobs Invest in the market , capital drives growth
Pay for your parent's medical insurance, health care improves
Enable Deadbeat Dads to come clean, or else

Remember this is for every adult U S Citizen 18+ including the folks
who lost their jobs at Lehman Brothers and every other company that is cutting
back. And of course, for those serving in our Armed Forces.

If we're going to re-distribute wealth let's really do
it...instead of trickling out a puny $1000.00 (vote buy) economic incentive
that is being proposed by one of our candidates for President.

If we're going to do an $85 billion bailout, let's bail out every
adult U S Citizen 18+!

As for AIG liquidate it. Sell off its parts. Let American General go back
to being American General. Sell off the real estate. Let the private sector bargain hunters cut it up and clean it up.

Here's my rationale. We deserve it and AIG doesn't.
Sure it's a crazy idea that can never work. Maybe???

But can you imagine the Coast-To-Coast Block Party!

How do you spell Economic Boom?

I trust my fellow adult Americans to know how to use the $85 Billion
'We Deserve It Dividend' more than I do the geniuses at AIG or in
Washington DC.

And remember, The Birk plan only really costs $59.5 Billion because $25.5
Billion is returned instantly in taxes to Uncle Sam.

There's actually a problem with this, and I know you didn't write it... So here's the deal... 85 billion distributed to 200 million actually only equals $425 per person... Not to say I wouldn't still want that money, but it's not $425,000 sadly...
