We got a surprise!
I'm pregnant!
I'd like to say I don't know how it happened but obviously I do, we just weren't expecting it. Two nights of camping and we got a little too close to nature. LOL
I dont know how I'm going to handle 2 kids under the age of 2 but I'm sure we can make it work. I always wanted 3 kids in the back of my mind, but we just weren't prepared for it to be so soon.
My husband is in complete freak out mode, calling the mortgage lender figuring out if we can sell our house (it's too small for a family of 4 plus dog). He's freaking out about getting overtime worked into his schedule, he's basically a mess and this is him being calm about it. LOL
Ahh...someone with 3 kids tell me it's going to be okay!

Re: We got a surprise!
We tried for over a year for #1 and then had the surprise of our lives when we found out about #2. The surprise pg was far harder to deal with than the not being able to get pg and I don't think I really got over the shock until I went into labour a month early. Mine were supposed to be 16 mos apart, but ended up being 15 mos apart. How far apart will your's be? It's not easy, but you'll make it through!
Re: We got a surprise!
i have 3!! My first two boys were 19 months apart! So i had 2 under 2!! My third though came along when my youngest was 8 lol so that was a challenge too!!

Re: We got a surprise!
Well, our son will be 7 in August, our daughter is turning 1 on July 1st. So when/if this one is born they will bill about 20 months apart.

Re: We got a surprise!
I've got 3 kids. A 14 yr old girl, 13 yr old boy, and 3 year old boy. The 14 and 13 year old are 15 months apart. The hardest part for me was trying to get just a little time to myself, especially in the beginning. Once my son was on a semi-consistent sleeping schedule things eased up. And diapers..the many, many, many diaper changes... until the older one was potty trained. They got along really well once my son was crawling around. They always had someone to play with... but ask me now how they get along and it's a totally different story lol. It will be okay.. if I can survive, anyone can lol.

Re: We got a surprise!
I had 4 kids in 5 years.. the last two were 13 months apart... it was fine..
We had a routine and followed it. ALWAYS. My kids knew I was in charge.. I swear I never had sleep issues, or anything else.. I was very fortunate.

Re: We got a surprise!
Congratulations! I've got three kids...11,3,3 You'll survive Once you get a routine established life will go much easier. We are one of "those" stories....we couldn't have any more after child #1, finally adopted child #2 and found out I was already QUITE pregnant with #3 and he came 6 weeks later.
Goo luck and congrats again!

How can you NOT know when you were that far along into your pregnancy?
But at least you found out. I saw this TV show were this lady didn't know that she was pregnant until she was in labor.... And she actually thought that she was dying
Re: We got a surprise!
congrats!!!
....and thank god it's not me
I have two (my youngest will be 1 next month, and 4 year old) I watch a 16 month old and my advice on 2 under 2? Lots of coffee and good drugs, lol. I make it work with just the coffee but I sure am wishing for those drugs about 20 times a day!

Re: We got a surprise!
Congrats!!
and t will be fine. Brett was 6 months when I found out about Matt and they are 15 months apart.
They are VERY clse, but also VERY competative.
Matt didnt talk till he was 3. He said stuff to brett and Brett translated and talked to us.
The day we came home from the hospital we laid Matt on the couch and went into their room. We came out a few minutes later and 15month old Brett was on the couch and holding a 1 day old baby. He claimed him right there and babied him for years. And aside from potty training for 3 solid years, fighting bottles and binkies for years and trying to find 2 of everything identical (their choice not mine) it was pretty easy.
Much easier than having a 8, 9, 4 year old and a new baby The older kids help a little. the 4 year old is old enough to know life before the baby and is jealous

Re: We got a surprise!
Congratulations! I have only one and he will be 4 this summer. I can't offer advice on the 2 under 2 deal BUT my younger brother has 2 boys that are 4 days short of being a year apart. Thier Mom seems to have done good with them, considering she then had 2 more babies... But that is a story on it self.
I wish you luck!
I wish you luck!
Re: We got a surprise!
So happy for you!
Advice? Um...I have 2, one is 10 years old, one is 25 1/2 years old...no advice about 2 so close together, nor having 3 except remember there is always the sanity bath.

Re: We got a surprise!
Chelle, that does make me feel better.
Supposing everything goes smoothly, we won't be finding out the sex. I found out with both of my other kids and really want the last to be a surprise.
As for names, we won't know until the last minute...LOL I have my favorites and Jon has his so we just come to an agreement when time is running out.
This is our top 8. Except hubby hates the name Shelbi.
Sienna
Olivia
Claire
Shelbi
Monroe
Miles
Ethan
Ian

Re: We got a surprise!
I like claire. it has class.
but I am also wishing I had named my oldest two odder names. I like Bowdrie (how many do you know?) and Rayley ( a very common name... but there are only 3 that I know of with in a few years of her), but wish my boys wernt always being confused with other Bretts and Matts. Heck Matt had 3 matts on his baseball team both years. which is why he goes by hoover.

Re: We got a surprise!
Miles is classy, too! I'm an Ian fan as well, but I like Monroe A LOT. I see it as a name for either a boy or a girl, so good for a surprise!

Re: We got a surprise!
Congrats!! We're in this together lol, I'll have 2 under 2 as well. My dd will only be 15 months when the next bundle arrives.
with my dd we didn't find out until we were 7 months along. I had no clues at all even had my period still , she never moved until about 7 months and I was like wait a minute I know that feeling... seen the dr and we had to prepare fast as my oldest is 7.

Re: We got a surprise!
Congratulations, Catherine!
I have four kids, and yes, it will all be fine. I won't bombard you with advice, but I'd be happy to give you advice if you need it as the time comes closer. Are you feeling well? I had no morning sickness with the first two. Then Zoe bucked the trend and I was queasy for months.
Maggie, I didn't know nearly as soon as I should with one of mine. I was never regular, and had heavy enough spotting that I didn't really notice that it wasn't a full period. If I'd known I was pregnant, I'd have been sure I was losing the baby. But when I finally did take a pregnancy test and go to the doctor, I was stunned to find out I was much further along than I had suspected.

Re: We got a surprise!
Congratulations!
As you might have guessed from my name, I have 3 kids. They are 8,5,and 2. We've been changing diapers for 8.5 years straight. *sigh*
At least for me this is how it went. When we had our first, it was a HUGE adjustment. 2 was still a fairly big change. 3 was an extra mouth to feed and that was about the only change...
For the record, I would absolutely have another if I could!
