Howdy - what are you ears hearing today? I mean in the way of music.

At the moment, I am listening to Standard Songs For Average People by John Prine and Mac Wiseman.
The Old Rugged Cross. Excellent cd.

Right at this moment it's the Barenaked Ladies. I could listen to their greatest hits cd for weeks!

I am listening to the outside. Our heat is off, our air conditioner is off, our TV is off. The only sounds are birds and kids in the distance. Very nice.

If it was not for this computer and headphones, that would be all I would hear, the birds. We have lots of them.

I would to acknowledge that the singer/musician/writer Paul Davis died at the age of 60.
Also Bruce Springsteen organ/piano Danny passed away.

Don't anyone laugh- I am listening to my hubby using the vacuum in the living room and also to Roy Orbison on the stereo. Oh, yes, and the "fur kid" crying to go outside.

The latest Paste sampler. Paste is a music magazine that includes a free sampler with each issue - usually an hour or so of music. It's always a mixed bag, some really great songs & others that do nothing for me.

Abba - yes Abba - I was reading the guardian (uk paper) and they had an article on summer movies and they have made the musical Mamma Mia into a movie with Meryl Streep, Colin Firth, Pierce Brosnan. The musical was really good and the reviews were really good so I wanted something happy today as I cursed my stupid concrete floor.
