At one time there was a post on the recipe section, it's probably still there but I can't find it. Someone was asking about frosting and I had posted my buttercream recipe and you had posted a recipe that you use. Yours was just a little different from mine, but I tried it and preferred yours. I am going to make a birthday cake for Wynonna's boyfriend. I don't really like him, but I feel badly that his own mother didn't call to wish him Happy Birthday or even make him a cake, so I decided I would. But I want your buttercream recipe....

Oh lord, I will have to look for it......give me a bit.

is it this one?


2 cups solid vegetable shortening
8 cups (2 lbs.) confectioners' sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1-2 teaspoons clear vanilla extract or your favorite flavoring
6-8 ounces whipping cream

or this one?
1/2 cup solid vegetable shortening
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter or margarine softened
1 teaspoon clear vanilla extract
4 cups sifted confectioners' sugar (approximately 1 lb.)
2 tablespoons milk


I have another one, but it is on my lappie, and it died a few weeks ago....

It was not the top one....maybe it's the bottom one..I will try once more to see if I can find it on the recipe posts to compare it to the second recipe, maybe it wasn't on there maybe it was in a regular post.

Can't find it, but I will try that recipe. I know that once I make it and see the consistency and taste it, I will know if that's the one..
