I originally got this out of the Company's Coming Slow Cooker Recipe book. I've sort of changed it a bit and tweaked it over the years. I don't know if they sell the Company's Coming books in the US, but if they do I recommend this one.
I make this whenever I have leftover ham. The kids like it and so do Mike and I.

Ham and Noodles
1.5 cups cubed cooked ham
1 can of mushrooms (drained)
1 can reduced fat cream of mushroom soup
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup grated Cheddar cheese (mozerella's good too)
1 tsp dry mustard
3 cups uncooked broad egg noodles
1 cup water
black pepper to taste

Put ham and mushrooms in slow cooker.

Combine soup and first amount of water in a bowl. Add cheese. Add to slow cooker. Sprinkle with pepper. Cover and cook on low for 6 - 8 hours or on high for 3 - 4.

Add noodles and second amount of water. Stir. Cover. Cook on high for about 20 - 30 minutes until noodles are tender.

Sounds good Rebecca. I would have never thought egg noodles would cook in a slow cooker. You learn something every day.

I love using the slow cooker and this sounds delish. I wonder if it would work with chicken too or if it would just fall apart.

I've never tried it with chicken. Maybe if you just added it when you add the noodles it would work?

Or maybe (I've been thinking about this recipe a lot Very Happy ) I could put in whole breasts and when I put the noodles in, give the whole thing a stir to break up the chicken......

That might work too... I was thinking leftover chicken because I always use leftover ham. I would think cheddar cheese would be a bit strong for chicken too... mozerella would probably be better.

True, just to take the edge off the cheddar.
