Just had to share

I wrote about it in my blog, but had to brag here too since not everyone reads it.

Went to the NWTF banquet the other night (all proceeds go to turkey preservation and programs and such)

I had a pretty good night. We won a few things.

adozen mouth calls,
a buck/doe call
crow call
2 slate calls
a little cooler
a big umbrella
binoculars
a nice fixed blade knife
a gun case
a glass bowl with a deer horn base
a very nice gilcee on canvas print limited edition



A really cool fire pit. The end of the poker thing is a turkey foot shape..



and a H&R 20 guage Youth Model Shotgun.

I read it in my yahoo reader and meant to go back and comment. But I forgot (big shocker, I know) so....

...and I am totally jealous, I could buy 100 tickets in a 101 ticket raffle with two drawings and still lose.

LOL tara, honestly, I never win anything else. But have had good luck at these events.

TO be perfectly clear, The print and the antler bowl were NOT raffle wins. I had to bid on those. But we got them VERY cheap.

LOL beachy, well, so far everyone in my family is using the calls to grate on my nerve. The very last one I have.

You guys have awesome prizes at your events. I love that fire pit!

I will wonder aloud what your shotgun/gun count is up to now. This is not the first new gun you've brought into your house since we started this board!

and tellin lori that I have only won 3 so far, a pistol, the .22 remington and the shotgun. But more than likely bought a few this year. We lost like 18 long guns and 3 pistols in the fire, so we are slowly building back up.

and I aint never et no crow... But venison I will walk all day to get

The turkey tracks are so neat. THey are cut out. When it has a fire in it it will really look cool. Right now its in my living room though.. cause we dont have a covered porch and I dont want it to rust.

Thank you trax and honestly, you are more than welcome to send me any recipies. I never do anything with it exept salt, pepper, flour and fry it then throw it on a plate with gravey and taters, peas, corn and biscuts and we eat our little hearts out.

But I do refuse to soak it to get rid of the 'gamey' taste.. heck if I wanted tasteless red meat I'd buy tht crappy, steriod abusing meat the grocery stores pass off as cows.. LOL
