Thoughts and prayers to all affected by Sandy. Luckily it completely missed us. Anyone hear from Athena? I hope all is okay.
Re: Sandy
I think of her too... shes the one in the area hit the worst.. Athena, if you have cell phone service and can read.. our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Glad you missed the brunt of it Tara... thinking of you both, and Rebecca who is dealing with after math, but is able to post of FB

Re: Sandy
Here I am! Thank you ladies xoxo I have electricity and everything, although my nieces and nephew lost theirs.I have had other problems.A chunk of our roof flew off, about the size of half a room.My tenant's upstairs had water pouring out of a light fixture.I had to turn off their electricity in two of their rooms to prevent a fire because the light fixture was buzzing and bubbling the water. The tenant left for the night and I was stuck emptying the basins of water all night.Early today my super great neighbor rang my bell and offered to tarp it for me.I so love him and his wife, real sweeties! No more leaks now until the insurance comes to inspect--hopefully it's covered I have no idea.So that's what I have been up to.I'm so glad all of you are ok!

Re: Sandy
So glad you are okay... I don't know exactly where you are but the all the pictures on the news had me VERY worried about you! Sorry for the damage you have to deal with but glad it wasn't worse! Good Luck with the insurance company. It moved and missed us but got areas around us, nothing as severe as you got though, a few trees and lines down and pieces blowing around.
Re: Sandy
Thank you Tara.I think most of the pictures they're showing are in the barrier islands in New Jersey, really bad damage. Where is Jackie? Ithink she got hit with massive snowstorms on the lower end of Sandy.

Re: Sandy
Sorry about the roof damage, Athena. Although it could have been worse, I can imagine that the lineup for roof repairs is not going to make things easy for you. Do you have a good supply of chill pills and such to get you through?

Re: Sandy
LMAO Lori,it's going to be ridiculous just waiting for the insurance to send someone to look at the damage. My neighbor who tarped my roof said that he has a roofer,I think he had some damage too but I didn't ask how much.I don't have chill pills but I'm going out to buy a few bottles of wine and margartia mix hic, that should do it

Re: Sandy
That ought to take care of it as long as you bring in enough to tide you over. LOLagaphmou wrote:I don't have chill pills but I'm going out to buy a few bottles of wine and margartia mix hic, that should do it
Was there any damage to your sister's house, or are they just without power?

Re: Sandy
seems different areas are working faster than others to restore power... living without really sucks. sorry about the roof damage and the headache to follow getting it repaired, but glad you and your family are okay.

Re: Sandy
Does't surprise me. I too have State Farm coverage and when we lost a few singles in Aug. time from the report to a complete new roof was like a month. I only wish it could be that quick for you... thank goodness for your neighbor who tarped you!

Re: Sandy
Glad you are OK, and damage was minimal. I have been there, and all you can do is wait. In the meantime, file for FEMA

Re: Sandy
NO, it is for any kind of assistance after a Disaster, especially if you don't have homeowners insurance
