Really confused about Restaurant.com
Does anyone have any experience with Restaurant.com? Specifically, has anyone redeemed MyPoints for the $25 gift card? I'd love to hear how it went for you if you have.
I put my zip code in, and one of my favorite restaurants is listed. They offer:
$25 Gift Certificate | Your Price $10
$50 Gift Certificate | Your Price $20
$75 Gift Certificate | Your Price $30
$100 Gift Certificate | Your Price $40
Minimum purchase of $35. 20% Gratuity added prior to discount. Valid for Dinner, Dine In ONLY. Excludes: Holidays/Special Events, Other Offers/Promotions. 1 certificate per party. Valid for parties of 2 or more.
So, would I be able to redeem for a $25 Gift Certificate when it only costs $10 and they have a minimum purchase price? Is the minimum purchase based on Your Price or the Gift Certificate value?
I'm so confused!

Re: Really confused about Restaurant.com
The "minimum purchase" refers to your total bill at the restaurant. You have to order at least $35.00 worth of food in order to use the $25.00 certificate. In other words, you are getting $35.00 worth of food for $20.00. ($10.00 for the $25.00 certificate and then the additional $10.00 for the difference.)
I'm not sure about your area, and it may be restaurant specific, but if you use the $50.00 gift certificate (or $75.00 or $100.00 for that matter) and your total bill is only say $48.00, you forfet the rest of the value of the gift certificate. You have to use the certificate all in one sitting. Read the small print!
Clear as mud??

Re: Really confused about Restaurant.com
Thanks a bunch Tanya, that helps a lot. It would be no problem spending at least $35.
Ideally, I'd love to be able to put the $10 value towards a larger value Gift Certificate for this particular restaurant. When we have family visit, it's the place they always want to go, and a larger value card would save us a bundle.

Re: Really confused about Restaurant.com
You're welcome! Glad I could help!
One more thing I forgot. Use the promo code LOVE and you will receive 80% off! So that $25.00 certificate will only cost $2.00. I just tested it and it worked.
Enjoy!

Will the code work on the higher value cards too?

Re: Really confused about Restaurant.com
Yep, it works on the higher value cards. The price shows up in your cart before you pay, so you can check it out. I'm not sure if all restaurants are participating, so check that out.

OK, I see now. If I get the $75 card, the minimum purchase is $150. Aha!

Re: Really confused about Restaurant.com
I learned the hard way about their small print. I still think it's a money saver, but I also learned about the restrictions on some things.
I hope this has helped!

Definitely a money saver. I just have to be able guestimate how much we'll be spending before I buy a GC.

Re: Really confused about Restaurant.com
OK, I broke the ice. Got a $25 GC for a local place that we've been meaning to try since it changed owners and has been remodeled. Now we're obligated. Fine print says it can't be used on special occasions (Valentine's Day?), Friday or Saturday.
