Stupid commercials
OK, we have all seen those local commercials for businesses, and some of them are ridiculous. How do you feel about them?
Personally, if I find your commercial irritating or stupid, I will not shop in your business. Maybe thats not real helpful to local businesses, but ......seriously, why is it necessary to make a fool of yourself?

Re: Stupid commercials
LOL I do the same thing. I would prefer no ads to stupid ads. I will say that if every car in the world for sale is at Fuccillo, I'll get a bicycle.
Same for Always... I will buy them if the price is right (free) but after the "have a happy period" slogan I stopped buying them.

Re: Stupid commercials
While I hate the 'Have a happy period' I do like the product. I buy them. But yeah, sometimes I dismiss a business without ever having gone there based just upon how dumb a commercial is.
Re: Stupid commercials
Add to the list of stupid commercials those new ones for Progresso soups. The soup may be okay (but not as good as my homemade stuff), but what in the world are those "ring, ring" phonecall cans supposed to signify? None of it makes any sense at all!
"Pardon me, my other can is ringing."
Brand recognition is not always a GOOD thing. Sometimes it just reminds me not to buy their product.

I just got it! I wondered what was up with the cans until I read your post. Total brand recognition! What??? You don't like the guy in the 70s short shorts?

Re: Stupid commercials
okay, the popeyes commercial, I dont know if all y'all have popeyes or not, but there is this commercial, and its a woman from La, and she goes to toutin all the great stuff they have, then she says "can I get a yes ma'am"
well, we dont say that, we say "can I get an AMEN" you KNOW thats what your supposed to say.. and then with all this PC crap, they wont say it. I mean if your gonna hire someone to do a commercial, soley for their cajon charm (and thats what it is) then why cut out a big part of it? seriously.
I mean we DO say "Yes Ma'am." we actually say it all the time, but not in that context, you wouldnt use it in that context, and we never ASK for a yes ma'am. we ask for an AMEN. I just hate things to be changed up just cause it doesnt fit in what folks THINK you should say. if you cant be true to the charecter your playin, rewrite the whole dang thing..
alright... off my soapbox now... LOL
