73 in Kentucky! doesn't get any better
Okay, you Floridians and Southern Texans... quit laughing. For Feb, to get a 73 degree day is almost unheard of here in southern KY.
Today found me walking up a sweat this morning during my 3.5 mile walk... way over dressed with a turtleneck and long pants.
This afternoon, well donned a T-shirt, flip flops and headed out to the garden to tackle those weeds that can survive our winter AND ice storms~
Oh what a glorious day... and tomorrow? well maybe warmer WOOT !
Come-on summer, show me what you've got !
Karen, taxes... well they can wait, my gosh, we have more than 2 months to go! Tomorrow, get thyself outdoors!

It's not 73 here, but I need to get out and walk. I slipped and slid to the mailbox yesterday, though, so I'll wait for a little more melting, first.

I intend to! I had to do the taxes today because I won't get another chance for a while. The kids were over at Grandma's and I had peace and quiet, a rare commodity when you have four kids. But the federal taxes are done and filed. I opted to do the state ones myself because they are so easy. It's not worth the extra $35 to e-file. The federals were free.
Tomorrow, I think I'll take the kids to the park!
Re: 73 in Kentucky! doesn't get any better
I think it got up around 70 here yesterday. It has been in the 60's for many days in a row, but sadly we still have ice and snow out there. First we got ice, then snow, then more ice. So it turned into like a glacier and is just slowly receeding. Yesterday all the ice finally receeded off my back deck

I am so jealous of all of you with the warmer weather, but I am glad at least someone is getting warmer temperatures today. Our high temperature is supposed to be 9 degrees fahrenheit!

Re: 73 in Kentucky! doesn't get any better
I have clothes out on the line right now! The kids are loving getting to play outside without spending a half hour putting on extra clothes and coats.
Re: 73 in Kentucky! doesn't get any better
I am praying its in the 60's on Saturday. Cause I have to plant taters all day and DO NOT want to sweat. LOL
Re: 73 in Kentucky! doesn't get any better
the snow has all finally melted and it is a beautiful 51 degrees outside!!! Today will be the first day of the year that I get to take my dog out for a run, and he is extremely excited he already saw his leash and collar and is just waiting to go!

I only wish I could think about sweating at 60! Great day again today, in the low 70's, but tomorrow, we begin the descend... 63, down to 48 with lots of rain BOO HOO
But it's been a great break from the ice, deep freeze we've been livng!

Amen to that! The kids had so much fun playing in the sandbox and on the swings today. It was so nice to let them romp!

Re: 73 in Kentucky! doesn't get any better
it was in the higher 60's here today and my mother-in-law called (she lives in flordia) and said she was freezing to death (it was in the 80's there) i told her to shut up and call me when it gets in the negatives with a foot of snow on the ground like it was here last week.

Re: 73 in Kentucky! doesn't get any better
We got quite a bit of rain yesterday, and itt didn't go below 50 overnight last night. Despite the warm weather for days and rain, the snow and ice has still not all melted from my yard

Re: 73 in Kentucky! doesn't get any better
For those of you who are missing the snow you lost, you can have mine, we always have snow here until late April, early May. These are pics I took this morning, atleast we don't have as much snow as last year, last year we were buried and some places snow didn't completely melt until sometime in June...

Valerie, thanks for the inspiration for my new avatar. I'm going to dig out a photo of my little guy - well, he used to be little - inside of a snow fort the kids made.
