April Showers
Besides the fact that we currently are receiving some April Showers, I could use your help with that theme.
I'm responsible for making table decorations for my newcomers club and I've purchased small umbrellas, mirrored trivets, short glass vases that I'll fill with silk flowers.
I plan to make a bookmark tag for each with an expression about April Showers Bringing May Flowers... I've only come up with two... I need 5 total.
Sweet April showers
Do bring spring May flowers
Though April showers may come your way,
They bring the flowers that bloom in May.
Do any of you have additional quips, maybe something you heard growing up, or out of a book. No more than 4 lines long.

Re: April Showers
I couldn't find any more "april showers" sayings but I found these that might work
“April is a promise that May is bound to keep.” (LOVE that one!)
“April hath put a spirit of youth in everything.”
“Spring is nature's way of saying, "Let's party!"”

I don't know of any. The biggest saying about April here is, "The tractor is stuck in the mud. Again."

Although true if you deal in tractoring, I'm doubting that one would have much impact on a bunch of 'citified' women
But hey, thanks Rebecca, I appreciate any help I can get

Re: April Showers
There's a line from a song in a musical (can't remember which one that goes)
Then April sighed and stepped aside and along came pretty little May
It goes on as
May was full of promises, but she couldn't keep them quick enough for some
Then a crowd of doubting Thomas' had predicted that the sun would never come!
LOL!
I love that song, it's actually about June, but my Dad would always sing it Christmas Eve when I was growing up!!!

Scott spent all of yesterday getting a semi trailer full of steel (estimated weight at 60,000 lbs) out of the mud (about 4 feet deep on one side, then it tipped over). And no, he didn't tell them to put it there. They brought it in and loaded it while Scott was distracted by the roof. Then they couldn't figure out how to get it out. But it's out now. Next week something else will be stuck.
