Hello from another North Carolinian! Empty Hello from another North Carolinian!

Post by Heather Tue Oct 28, 2008 6:22 pm

Well, I figure I've lurked long enough and it's about time to introduce myself. I've been a BzzAgent since October 2005 but never had much time to be very active in my Bzzing. So, I'm only a level 2 - LOL - but someday I guess.

Anyway, so you know a bit more about me - I'm a stay at home mom to my 5 kiddos - ages 3, 5 yr old twins, 9, and 11. And most days my husband of 12 years seems like a kid so.... maybe he could count as one too?

Well, I'm happy to find the board here and hope to get to know everyone really soon!

I can totally understand that! I love being a stay at home mom, but I SO look forward to the day when I can put something away and it stays away, or go to the bathroom without someone standing at the door shouting to me, or worse yet, wondering why they stopped shouting and what they're doing now.

Welcome out of the woodwork! I've just got the 2 kids, but with the help of the dog they get into plenty of trouble!

Yes, all of our toys have grown legs as well and of course, when it's time to put things away - my kids would rather donate the toy than pick it up.

As for potty breaks - my 3 year old is autistic and goes into meltdown if I close the door and he can't see me so I think I would throw a party if I got to go potty without his help!

Shocked

Oh no! Autism is so sad/scary/overwhelming. I feel for you. On the other hand, it sounds like you got an early diagnosis which I've read is key to helping him long term. Hopefully, the interventions you do now will make a big difference for him.

Well, Autism was a sad/scary diagnosis for our family.... and is overwhelming every single day. However, we have two with aspergers (our 11 and 9 year old) also, so it's all through our house. LOL - we've just learned to cope and adapt so that its not sad and/or scary so much anymore... Smile
