John Prine?

I noticed that one of the avatars that I could pick when I signed up was a picture of John Prine.......Is someone here a Prine fan? I am CRAZY about him. My husband and I have seen him a number of times in concert.

It is rare to run across something like this so I was just wondering.

Yes, it's trax. She is a huge fan and will be thrilled to see that there's another member who is, too.

Oh, she will LOVE talking John Prine to you. We had to import a special avatar, just for her, LOL. I actually like him, too. But I only know his stuff in passing. My DH used to get his stuff when he was young and then he always sang our kids to sleep with Please Don't Bury Me or Dear Abby. Don't know why, but he did and we all loved it.

Greetings RL and Welcome to UB. Yes, I am a big John Prine fan and I have been for many years. Too funny, when I came to the board a few minutes ago and saw the post John Prine? ... I thought to myself, what the heck - which website have I gone to.

Yes, and the kind folks here gave me the John Prine avatar, makes me smile everytime I see it. That was Prine thoughtful of them.

The last time I saw John Prine live was in August 2005. I got to meet him, hugged him, shook his hand, received an autograph. Lord, I was so knocked-kneed , I was really close to being at a loss for words.

Three things we have in common, we like John Prine, we UB, and we are both Sagittarius!

I am *almost* finding this unbelievable!! lol

My first Prine concert was in New Orleans and I had front row seats - dead center! I got so spoiled!

Haven't got to meet him yet but I did send a request in for him to send me an autographed picture for my husband's birthday a few years ago. He did send me one and I had it custom framed for the hubby's b-day. He was so happy with that.

That's such a cool gift! I love it when people think of awesome gifts that aren't necessarily expensive but have a lot of thought or effort put behind them.

Do not find it unbelievable - John Prine has many true fans. Mr. Prine has always been a rather quiet, polite gentleman. His male fans are too. Would not say that for the female fans!

He has always extended himself to his fan base, he understands fully they provide much of his income. I think from his marriages, to the birth of his sons, to beat throat cancer, win grammy awards, and now ~ ain't that lucky larou - John Prine on Friday - will be 62!
