Devon's First Day of School
Dh took this week off work so the both of us could take him to school today. When we got to the door Devon just went right into the school without even saying goodbye to us! I could see that he was managing ok at his cubby just inside the door with his teacher so we left after a few minutes. We went and bought Sam some shoes and PJ's he needed and then picked Devon up again. When Devon saw us outside he ran straight over to me and gave me a huge hug. He said he had fun, but that a lot of the kids didn't come today (I didn't think there looked like there were enough kids hanging around outside!). Hopefully he continues to like school for a while!
Here's Devon all set to go:
Here's Sam and Devon. Sam was in denial and acting goofy just because he could:

aaaaawwwwwwwwww!! looks like sam is happy!! LOL
I am glad he enjoyed his first day, it helps that they are excited the first day. That fear isnt there in the back of their mind as badly.

They are both darling! Those were the days! My youngest is a senior in high school now. He came home and said everything was lame.
One thing I tried to do on the first day of school (OK, I did this about 3 times, but I had good intentions!) is to have the kids hold a ruler with their finger marking their current grade. Kindergarten was the "0", fist grade was the "1"...all the way to "12". Hmmm. I haven't made my senior do this yet. LOL
I'm sure it's too Lame for the likes of him anyhow.

I love the first day of school! The best part is how the kids don't stop talking when they come home, telling you about every little thing they got to experience.
Now when I ask 'What did you do in school today?' I get the reply: 'Same 'ol same 'ol' lol. Although my son still loves it!
P.S. the kids are adoreable!

Thanks everyone! And Tara, you're right -- those Scananavian genes really come out in Devon!

Re: Devon's First Day of School
Good luck getting him to stand still Missy! Devon was in too big of a hurry to get going -- he was so worried we would be late!
