which name do you prefer?
Baby name poll
I'm expecting and I think it's probably a girl. It's early yet but I'm tossing around some names and would love some input.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Baby name poll
Linnea is beautiful. My son is named (almost) after his father, and any other children I have will have unique names.

I voted Claire.

I went to grade school with a girl named Linnea (same spelling too) it's a very pretty and unusual name, I have never met anyone ever since with that name

Re: Baby name poll
Linnea is a beautiful name. And Linnea Claire is nice, too.
I tried to give each of my kids a traditional name and an unusual one, so they had the option of using a name that blends in or using the one that stands out.

Re: Baby name poll
I voted for Claire, it is what my Best friend named her baby girl, I like that name alot.
Of course DD is naming the Grandchild, if he EVER arrives Xander, her second choice was Griffin.

Me too. I don't know how I have a 'Dalton' ...... I wanted to name him Andrew and my ex wanted to name him Rio. lol Dalton was a good compromise.
They are all beautiful names though

Re: Baby name poll
My apologies here, I know I am different. I do not like any of the names you have picked. Claire, Stella are not unique.
Are you looking for unique or unique spelling?

Re: Baby name poll
While I agree that Linnea is 'different' (think about people trying to spell this), I actually like Stella. And Stella Clarie would be nice. Stella is an old name (think Marlon Brandon -- S- t - e - l - l -a aaaaa) , not something a lot of babies are being named these days. And Stella can't really be shortened to anything (think Stellie? naw)... I'm all for names that become what the child is actually called. My Mom tried to give myself and brother/sister names that couldn't be "nicked", but that didn't work. That's why I'm Dee (Diane), brother was Phil or Flip (Phillip), and sister Joan (Joanie).
My daughter is Deborah ... and she won't let any one call her Deb, Debbie or even Debra!
So I stick with Stella.
And congratulations !

Re: Baby name poll
I say go for what you like best- you are the one who will be repeating it every 2 minutes for the next 18 years. I have a Rylan, with the exception of one SIL everyone hated it, probably still do but oh well, I like it
Re: Baby name poll
COngrats!!
I like names that are sorta unique. Not like a wierd name, like juvinile (we have one in my kids school) or we have a set of cousins named porcha (supposed to be after the car... they mispelled), mercedes, and kia. (gota wonder about that one... LOL) but names that are meaningful or have a lyrical sound about them.
I have 2 normals and 2 not so normals. Brett Ryan and Matt Logan (not mathew) and Rayley Lorena and Bowdrie Marshall (bow for short). But we call matt hoover. like the vacuum.
I like claire, but like Karens suggestion even better

Re: Baby name poll
Totally off subject- kinda. back to my earlier post- if it was up to my inlaws I would have a Robert Joseph the 4th. I have to caution anyone about doing that to your kid. It took months and months of fighting with credit reporting agencies for us to get our house because the names all blended together. My hubby had 3 DL#'s over 50 addresses and I had a hell of a time trying to convince them all that no he did not take out a Montgomery Ward CC in 1975. He was BORN in 1978. There were so many more and it took lots of aggravation to remove bad things (and not bad but not good like open credit) form his credit report and it slowed our getting a house by MONTHS. So at the very least if you must give your kid the exact same name- have good credit first.
Re: Baby name poll
One of my step somebody's named their boy Tuff, just Tuff, poor kid.
I am sticking with Claire, I like it....it is simple, classic, timeless.

Oh man don't I know it! Our was worse in a way because we live in the house built by Scott's grandfather. All three generations lived here at some point, all with the same name and phone number and address. Not an easy thing to explain to a credit agency.
Re: Baby name poll
I wasn't blessed with a girl so I'm voting for Emily Olivia. It was the name I would have given a girl if I'd had the chance.
I'll vote up top too, but still going with Emily. Now that I think of it, Emmaline is nice (and different).
