Breaking Dawn - SPOILER ALERT!!!!
If you have not read it yet stop reading now!!!!!!
---------------------------------------------------------
Ok, I need to talk about it - what did everyone think?
I loved the first two sections - blew me away - completely unexpected with surprise after surprise.
It was wonderful when Jacob imprinted on Renesseme, like an aha moment
and then... a bit of a let down. I thought that at least the Volturi would be overthrown and I still do not completely understand Alice leaving (simply a ruse to fool the volturi?).
Do you think that Meyers will continue the series? it certainly seems like she left too many paths open.

Re: Breaking Dawn - SPOILER ALERT!!!!
I haven't read this series of books, but I'm aware of them and their huge following. Several magazines that I subscribe to have featured either the movie, the author, or Breaking Dawn on their covers.
Entertainment Weekly gave the book a D. I have never seen that!

Re: Breaking Dawn - SPOILER ALERT!!!!
Why didn't people like the book? I found it very good, almost better than any of the previous ones. Alice left to bring back the man who was like the new baby- half human and half vampire. I think the author left it open so there could be more books to follow.

Re: Breaking Dawn - SPOILER ALERT!!!!
I really hope she continues on as to me it seems that she left it open to do so...
I get that Bella's story is basically done, but theres so many possiblities if she was to continue on from Reneessme's perspective!
The only thing I found slightly irritating with Breaking Dawn was that she switched perspectives when things were getting really intense... plus I'm not the biggest fan of Jacob, so i would just rush through his parts in hopes of getting back to Bella's perspective asap!

Re: Breaking Dawn - SPOILER ALERT!!!!
She is continuing on w/ the Cullen Clan, but not w/ Bella & Edward & their storyline. She said in her website that she was going to expand on the other family members story (probably like Renesmee).
What she DID say she wasn't going to finish was Midnight Sun.. and I'm so bummed about that. You can get a copy of Midnight Sun on her website, and it's the exact same as Twilight, but from Edward's perspective. Unfortunately, some friend of hers chose to put it on the internet, which forced her to basically say "sorry, not going to finish it now!", and put it online for all to read.
I totally get what you're saying about switching perspectives. It bugged me as well....

Re: Breaking Dawn - SPOILER ALERT!!!!
I hope that one day she decides to go back and finish Midnight Sun, although i completely understand why she doesn't.
I hope it doesn't take her forever to release another book...
I'm in the process of reading the series a second time since I now own the boxed set and don't have to borrow copies anymore, so as soon as I finish Twilight, I'll read Midnight Sun...
its taking me a bit longer to read Twilight now... i think I am enjoying it a little more throughly and doing some comparisons to the movie as i read.
I cannot wait to see what New Moon looks like as a movie! i hope it lives up to my expectations a little better than what Twlight did...

Re: Breaking Dawn - SPOILER ALERT!!!!
Did you hear that Taylor (can't think of his last name) isn't going to be Jacob in the new movie? Bummer! They needed someone who looks older. ::sigh::
Re: Breaking Dawn - SPOILER ALERT!!!!
that is so dissapointing. I thought that he was fabulous in the movie and I thought that he would buff up quite nicely.
Meyers website says that she inow IS going to finish Midnight sun because of the fan response - and that it would be her next project We can live in hope . She has her draft published on her web site - I thought that it was wonderful.

Re: Breaking Dawn - SPOILER ALERT!!!!
thats too bad that it won't be the same Jacob... it would be hard for him to bulk up enough for it. i was kinda think they should have filmed when he still looked younger and then when he had a growth spurt it would have been better for the second one. Hope they pick someone good... they might lose some of their younger audience that was in love with Taylor Lautner. imdb.com still has him listed as Jacob for New Moon...
I just saw her site the other day and i didn't see anything about her finishing it...
which site did you see that at?
I have the draft of Midnight Sun to read since she posted it for all to read, so fans wouldn't seek other ways to find it.

Re: Breaking Dawn - SPOILER ALERT!!!!
here is a cut and paste from her web site. she goes on to say why she decided to do it and when (basically she thinks it will take a long time). It is under 'Twilight Series' and then 'Midnight Sun'.
June 2008 Update: In response to the outrageous number of emails that I have received with questions concerning Midnight Sun, I talked to Stephenie this weekend and she asked me to let everyone know that Midnight Sun is her next project. She has not yet finished writing it (and there is no timeline set up, so we all need to put a lot of effort into being patient for a while longer), but she is definitely still planning on having it published. And, after Breaking Dawn comes out, Stephenie will have much more time to focus on writing Midnight Sun.

Re: Breaking Dawn - SPOILER ALERT!!!!
The August 28th Update says this...
"So where does this leave Midnight Sun? My first feeling was that there was no way to continue. Writing isn't like math; in math, two plus two always equals four no matter what your mood is like. With writing, the way you feel changes everything. If I tried to write Midnight Sun now, in my current frame of mind, James would probably win and all the Cullens would die, which wouldn't dovetail too well with the original story. In any case, I feel too sad about what has happened to continue working on Midnight Sun, and so it is on hold indefinitely."
I didn't see the June 2008 update on stepheniemeyer.com because it doesn't look to go that far back...
does she have a couple of websites because I am seeing the August 28th website in the place where you found your quote?

Re: Breaking Dawn - SPOILER ALERT!!!!
I too thought she wasn't going to complete it... but then she wrote that comment in June '08. I'm *thinking* that this manuscript that was released happened AFTER June 2008... b/c my SIL told me about it after Breaking Dawn was released, which was in August. I remember now b/c we moved to Texas in mid August, the week after BD was released, and the Midnight Sun wasn't out then on the internet.... and I had to have something to read in September, which is when I think Stephenie Meyer put it out on her website. I ended up reading the Midnight Sun in September....
So, I don't think at this moment she's going to go on w/ it, like she says in the June comment. They really should remove that.

Re: Breaking Dawn - SPOILER ALERT!!!!
I loved Breaking Dawn..can't understand why so many people were disappointed with it. Now that I'm done with all the books, I'm going to have to reread them because I think I read them too fast.

Re: Breaking Dawn - SPOILER ALERT!!!!
i really didn't like this book at all
i mean it didn't really make a lot of sense to me how she could live through a hybrid birth when everyone else had died doing the same thing
i also didn't like how she became a vampire
i wanted it to be romantic not a spur of the moment thing
and the jacob things was a little creepy
