That's right up the road (okay not right up the road, it's ways, lol)

That is the most celebraty excitement we have had since Adrienne Gardner ( I think- the guy with the big nose) bought stone barn castle.

Then again other than the last woodstock ( haha) nine years ago they are the only famous people excitment.
Well I do live one town over from where L Frank Baum was from. They have a huge wizard of oz festival every year... but he's not there, obviously, lol.

that is pretty cool. Like my town, there is not much going on, but when something does, like that, it's nice to have a change of pace. I find it interesting of who is in trouble though. I never thought that he messed with that sort of thing. But then again, you never truly know someone (not saying I KNOW him..lol).

My aunt was the balliff for the initial process of the R. Kelly trial, she would not tell us any info though, so no gossip here.

The town that I live in filmed some of the movie Groundhog Day in it. I live just a few miles from where they filmed the sight where he drove over the "cliff".

When I was a teenager, in the town of LaGrange, IL, they were filming the movie "While you were sleeping." I went to JR high just a few miles from where they filmed the home scenes. My friends and I would change our routes walking home, hoping to get a glimpse of the set.

In the movie, "Lake House" (another Sandra Bullock movie), that home was filmed on the lake that I threw my son's first birthday at. When my fiance and I were scoping out forest preserves that we wanted to host it at, we drove past a section that was blocked off, and further down the street, a bunch of state and forest preserve officers were at a spot that people park and fish, but due to being able to see the filming from there, until they were done, no one could go to that spot. We ended up choosing the other side of the lake when I heard that the filming would be done a few weeks before the party. I didn't want to chance them still filming and having to move the party. Below is a picture my brother took of the lake.

Hey, ummmm, Pee Wee Herman is from my town! That was some big ol' controversy during THAT fiasco.

Jerry Springer lives here too. lol

And to think, Sarasota is a hugely affluent community, with the most millionaires per capita in the US. lol ( and I am no where CLOSE to being one of them Sad )

NOOOOO!!! Not Steven Page! LOL!

There's not much excitement around here as far as celebrities go. Rachel McAdams is from here and so is Joe Thorton (hockey player). You see Joe around every once in a while, but never Rachel. There's a fancy, extremely private golf course just outside of town where the queen and Prince Philip have stayed in the past and Prince Edward recently stayed at. Sean Connery is supposed to be a member there as well, but it's not like you ever see any of those people and there guests bumming around town.

Prince's grandmother lives in Port Arthur, and he visits her once a month....on thursdays. I have seen him quite a bit around town, he is very VERY short.

You know, I would not have figured him for a grandma visiting kind of guy. I think I like him better now that I know.

My town doesn't get too many movie stars or rock stars. We do, however, get regular visits from the Dalai Lama.

OMG! I just did a web search to see how you spell Dalai Lama and I also typed in Berea, just for fun and I found a guy who has a webpage dedicated to how Berea is the center of some strange conspiracy (he's a teenager doing this for fun) with all kinds of "spooky" and cool trivia about the town... and he's got a link to a book where there's a guy saying the apocolypse is coming in Dec. 2012 and that BEREA is the place to go for your best chance of survival!

the Dalai Lama comes to Ithaca quite often... I would LOVE the opportunity to go see/hear him. They broadcast it on a loacl channel... but it's not local for me. Buddhism absolutely fasinates me, as does he.

Yup the end of the world is supose to come in 2012.... maybe we will come for a visit that Dec Karen! LOL

The guy who created youtube is from my town! That's about it!

One of my friends knew Brad Pitt in High School when she was on the debate team. She says she just can't find him sexy now because all she can remember is the chubby cheeked wanna be! LOL! She grew up in Missouri (I think!).
