Post by BzzAgentJoeC Fri Jun 20, 2008 3:16 pm

All,

I am going to stick around for about an hour. I'll try to answer a few general questions in that time (I can't find out, for example, where a particular MyPoints GC is or why someone's points aren't showing up), but if you have general questions, I'll see if I can help clarify. I did say I'd do this. I just needed to post to the BeeLog, which I did, before I came back here, out of fairness to the other agents.

I'm happy that "missing" keys were passed out today as well as a great campaign.

Do you have any size 9 or 10 womens flip flops left? I collect flip flops and never did get a pair.

Level 7 is a real level. How to reach it, well by doing that 3-2-1 thing, I suppose. I don't know precisely how many activities you need to complete to get there (I'm a level 1), so I suppose when someone here reaches it, they'll spill the beans.

Honestly, though, I am fascinated by the power of these levels. I once met a professor from Wharton who told me about a case at Seimens in which the company created a system that would allow employees to share their expertise with one another. Depending on how good his/her counsel was, the employee would receive a star from the person aided. And it worked.

Then one day a bunch of consultants came in and said that the stars were useless, so the company terminated that part of the program. What happened? Nobody cared very much about the quality or timeliness of help they offered. There was no social currency associated with their help. And, predictably, the system fizzled.

I think that story has colored a lot of the counsel I have given in these meetings. I've always thought that more levels and more fun levels would be important to our Agents. I just never knew HOW important they would be. There is a great spirit of competition here, and Level 7 has become, in my opinion, more than a notch about Level 6, it has become a badge. And I think that's pretty cool.

Will there be stuff like flipflops again? I can't see into the future, but I can make an educated guess, and my guess is this: I truly, sincerely doubt it.

I spur some type of a competition every day at my job, and it always increases the results.

Although to be honest, I don't think any of us want the level 7 so we can say 'we won or I made it there first!' ...... for me, anyway, it's more of an internal achievement type competition. 60 minutes 684433

Hi Joe! I have questions. How are you? How's life at the hive post transition. Are the kinks getting worked out? Are things settling in? I hope so.

And when will you pick your new nickname? Would you like us to set up a poll and vote on the submissions, just for fun. Not all of our polls are smart-assed.

And how's Mrs. BzzAgentJoeC? Will you ever bring her here to meet us? Or are you afraid she'll find out about our illicit love, LOL?

Couple more:

Wombats won't work. The industry association puts on a conference called WOMBAT, so they'd get mad if we tried to "borrow" their term!

Mrs. JoeC: She knows nothing of my steamy involvement in UB, so shhh.

My new nickname: Nobody's suggested anything. People just want to know what the axes are labled in Max's graph. I didn't lable them on purpose. I thought it'd be more intriguing that way!

Womlets as donations? Yes. It appears this will remain part of the program. Dave feels VERY strongly about them. I'd say that in about 50% of the rewards-related meetings I was in with him, he found a way to ask, "Is there any way to involve non-profits in this piece?" So yea, the smart money is on charitable Womlets sticking around.

Hi JoeC! Glad to see you back.

Maybe a name like 'The Marketer'. Can shorten it to 'Markie Mark'.

My questions is....well curious about the abyss in level 7, and has there been a large decline in reporting...and if so, are companies ok with that? I mean are you still getting all the info you need for them?

Thanks for this hour...

I've been waiting to suggest a new username because we need to come up with something that really rocks. I mean, you need to sound cool and fun. We'll come up with something I'm sure.

The Wombats joke isn't about you though. That would just be an internal nickname for WOMLETs here. When they first came out people were offended, so we decided to defuse the anger by coming up with a mean-spirited nickname for them. We've got three polls going right now because there were too many submissions for a single poll form to handle it. But happily, it's now something everyone is laughing about, rather than getting upset about.

Per-campaign reporting has been very strong. We know you want more campaigns, and that's truly, honestly what we are focused on. Seriously, if I were able to tally up the questions asked, I'd guess the order would be:

- When will I get a campaign invite?
- Can I have a troll?

As cute as trolls may be, we are putting our resources toward campaigns. We've dedicated a LOT of man-hours to rewards. So it'll be good for these people to resume focus on supporting our sales team to help them sell BzzCampaigns.

That's great to hear. I honestly think if the campaigns were more plentiful people wouldn't worry about an additional reward. The campaigns are great.

Be sure to go vote for it. You can vote in each of the three polls, then later (after a few days) we'll have a run off election.

I believe you are right Lucky. All this rewards debate aside, I believe the reason most people come to BzzAgent is to join campaigns. So that's where we are focused.
