Hey Canadians look what I found
I was browsing the My points rewards and I came across this:
$25 GIFTPASS Code
3,250 Points
Giftcertificates.ca has introduced its own gift certificate called GIFTPASS. GIFTPASS allows MyPoints.com members to select the gift certificates of their choice from Canada's leading merchants. Instead of redeeming your MyPoints from a select group of merchants you will now be redeeming for a $25 GIFTPASS. You will receive your GIFTPASS e-Certificate code immediately at which point you simply follow the instructions on how to redeem as outlined below.
Important Notes:
* GIFTPASS can only be sent to Canadian addresses.
* Each $25 GIFTPASS must be redeemed separately at Giftcertificates.ca
* When you redeem your GIFTPASS for the gift certificate(s) of your choice, the shipping and handling charge is FREE as long as you redeem for the full value of the GIFTPASS. You will ONLY be charged for shipping and handling, payable only by credit card, on subsequent redemptions if you do not use the full value of your GIFTPASS on your FIRST redemption.
* You will receive your GIFTPASS e-Certificate code immediately from MyPoints.
* Log onto www.giftcertificates.ca
* Click the "Redeem Your GIFTPASS". tab
* Print out and enter the GIFTPASS e-Certificate code that you received on your confirmation page.
* Select the gift certificates you wish to receive.
* Your gift certificates will be mailed to you.

Re: Hey Canadians look what I found
Thanks for the heads up. I actually addressed each of those stores in my post about how I'm forfeiting my points into cyber oblivian.
Re: Hey Canadians look what I found
Thanks for posting. I looked at it already today. I'm actually excited that it's back. I've redeemed twice for a giftpass so far.

Cool, thanks for posting this. I have a little more flexibility with this than Rebecca and some of the other Canadians as I live close to a big city. I will have to investigate this further but I appreciate the heads-up!!!

Ahem, even though I happen to live in "the centre of the universe" Rebecca , I'm still not impressed at all ........... almost all of the stores/services listed I would never frequent and having to use 3250 points for a $25 GC for one of them just seems like highway robbery to me. I'll probably redeem my points for Canadian Tire, The Keg or one of the hotels and call it a day.

Re: Hey Canadians look what I found
I was actually thinking about your post today Rebecca and how the stores listed won't work for you. Why not redeem your points for a gift card then sell it on ebay for cash? Yeah you'll lose a little more value with fees, but Amazon gift cards seem to go for nearly their value and with the e-code there's no shipping. That way you still get something out of it.

Re: Hey Canadians look what I found
I've never done ebay before. It's a good idea though. I think that for my own peace of mind it's best if I send my points into cyber oblivian and pretend they never existed.
Re: Hey Canadians look what I found
I really hope you don't Rebecca... I do hope that you just wait and see...
then make a decision.
then make a decision.
Re: Hey Canadians look what I found
Too late, they're gone. Dealing with MyPits is simply not worth any amount of points to me.
