Crockpot Recipes Empty Crockpot Recipes

Post by Rhonda67 Sun Apr 27, 2008 9:30 pm

We LOVE this!

I used all mushroom soup.....

This easy crockpot chicken breast recipe is made with Swiss cheese, cream of mushroom soup, stuffing mix, butter and cream of chicken soup.

INGREDIENTS:

4 boneless chicken breast halves, without skin
4 slices Swiss cheese
1 can (10 1/2 ounce) condensed cream of chicken soup
1 can (10 1/2 ounce) condensed cream of mushroom soup
1 cup chicken broth
1/4 cup milk
3 to 4 cups Pepperidge Farm Herb Stuffing Mix (I use one box per 4 breasts)
1/2 cup melted butter
salt and pepper to taste

PREPARATION:
Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper; place chicken breasts in crock pot. Pour chicken broth over chicken breasts. Put one slice of Swiss cheese on each breast. Combine both cans of soup and milk. Cover chicken breasts with soup mixture. Sprinkle stuffing mix over all. Drizzle melted butter on top. Cook on low for 6-8 hours.

I do something similar to this in the oven. I didn't think the stuffing would do well in the slow cooker, but it looks like I was wrong! I use cream of celery soup in mine. It adds a nice flavour to the chicken and stuffing.

Now this looks really good! I will try this one soon....

today I have stuffed peppers in the crock pot...

When I make meat loaf ( blech) i freeze one. I make meatloaf
by combining meat and salsa and cheese..seasonings... ( salsa is usually Newmans black bean... or something chuky) On work days I will take a frozen one
put it in the crock pot.. cover the top with more salsa ( I always have salsa and v-6 in the house for quick meals) and cook it on low. When I get home, I turn it off sprinkle more cheese on top..
dinner!

I tried this recipe last year when my MIL had surgery, and even though it LOOKS so yummy, we all pretty much turned our noses up at it after we took a few bites. I'm wondering if I did something wrong to it....

Which part did you find to be the most unappetizing?

Not sure why it wasn't very appetizing.

I'm thinking it was more my DH and MIL didn't say much on it.

Super easy for chicken in the crock pot, and really tasty is plain old Kraft fat free italian salad dressing and chicken breasts for about 5-6 hours on low heat.
It has to be fat free as there are more seasonings in it.
I use a tonne of Kraft fat free Italian dressing in my house.
Then when we think we are chickened out I make an alfredo sauce and toss some frozen spinach and my leftover chicken into it and toss with pasta. ~kinda ruins the whole fat free effect, but we really do it with the fat free because it makes it taste the best~

I swear I made this the other day. And BR loved it. But I cant remember what I did or didnt do.

I KNOW I didnt use the cheese, or the mushroom soup. Cause we dont eat that crap.

LOL

But I dont know what I did, and BR wants it REALLY badly.

ANd for some reason my electric just went out and now I cant even cook in the crock pot... Sad

trying to remmeber if I paid my bill...

OMG Thank you!!!! I have been looking for this blog and didn't even know it. I love my crockpot- it's idiot proof (and with me in the kitchen that is a good thing) and I saw sooo many yummy things to try, instead of the same three recipes. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I added it to my reader
