Trojan, Worm or Virus
Last night while on the computer, I got a notice on my screen that something was trying to download and I should update a Security Tool thru Avast (my free antivirus)... and I would click and a new window would pop open... this went on for 10 minutes, and I shut down.
Turned it on again this morning and more warnings that I wasn't able to closed. Turned the computer off again.
And called my comupter guru, an IT and a local manufacturing company, who moonlights evenings/weekends.
Don was familiar with what I was talking about and said he'd come get the computer on his lunch hour and take it back to work and run a scan. Then take home tonight to fix it.
He called me about 5 tonight and said it was 'fixed' ... he had time at work to deal with it... turned out to be a Trojan.... one going around and around. I asked what I owed him an he said half an hours worth (he charges $40 an hour, but only if he can fix -- and he's never not). I paid him the full hour since he drove here to pick up and drove here to drop off and hook back up.
He also installed a malware program...
I'm back in business. I tell ya ladies, I was in my 40's, I'd call my self a cougar and hit on him... sweet, smart and not hard at all to look at But I'm not in my 40's and his wife is in my bunco group...
But thank the Computer God's for people like Don!

Ha! Yup. I hate when I can't use my computer as an excuse not to clean. It's a major tragedy in my book.
