Olympic athlete killed during training

did anyone hear about this? I can't believe it

not until tonight about 6:30 when the coverage of the opening began. Yesh, my gosh, how awful, sad.

I saw that, could have done without the actual video on the news....was sad.

I agree about the video, they showed way more than I needed to see. Over and over and over again. Very sad.

It was awful seeing the Olympic coverage by NBC begin with the accident. I didn't like that at all.

It was on the news over here yesterday. I noticed when I was at work last night that NBC kept playing the video in slow motion over and over. What was worse for me was that the first time I saw it was in real time on CTV news. Luckily they only played it once. They keep saying the guy died in hospital, but by the looks of the real time video I'd say he was dead before he landed.

I agree, Rebecca. I think death must have occurred on impact. I still can't believe they thought they needed to play that.

they played the video way to many times. I think they must have gotten complaints as well because during tonights coverage they said they'd never show that footage again!! Thank goodness! Its a show families like to watch and I sure dont want to have to explain what happened again

completely unnecessary,very morbid,they should it to increase their ratings which is sick in itself

I actually hardly ever watch the news on TV. I read it online or in the paper so that I don't have to see stuff like that. So I actually didn't ever see the video. I am thankful for that.

I agree with Trax. Condolances to the family. I am sorry for their loss.
