Duggars to be grandparents

Yeah... saw that. I think it's so... weird? that they want to follow the steps and do a similar thing on the name, but they haven't picked the letter yet.

I hope they do space the kids out a little bit more than the parents did though!

I couldn't believe what publicity whores they are...the whole damned family had to be on the Today show to announce that someone is pregnant? Cripes, it's an everyday occurance in that family - what's the big deal?

I think it would be kind of weird to have aunts and uncles the same age as me... I don't know, I just find the whole family more than a little odd.

Just saw them on Larry King live....Michelle still is open to more kids. She's 42...times running out.

Of course they are having a baby. That poor girls Dad gave her over to her "lord and master". I am guessing they finally kissed each other. I totally don't get it, I mean, you test drive a car before you buy it right?

I'm sorry if I offend anyone, but I personally thing it is totally insane. There are children in this country that are beaten, and starved and alot in need of a family. If you want that many kids, give the ones a chance that really are in need. I would not even think of bringing any more kids into this psycotic (sp??) world. If that seems selfish to some..so be it. I think it is very selfish to be having as many as "the Lord" wants you to have..I think they are nuts! And it looks like it is going to continue. Don't get me wrong, it's their right, but take a look at this world.

I agree with you, but atl east they are not on public assistance. I am wondering what is gonna happen when the "bad kid" shows His/her horns. With that many kids there has to be one that is a bad one, or gay( which is not bad, but they would see it that way).

Oh I totally think it's insane but like Erin says they support them on their own so I can't say much. I think they weirdo religious nut jobs but too each their own I guess. I have never seen them on TV but from what I have read it seems they make the older kids raise the younger ones and that is no sort of life for the older ones but again to each their own. They are fed clothed and loved not neglected or beaten.

I personally think if they are able to take care of themselves without having to go on welfare/government help in anyway.... then they should have all the kids they want, providing they can PROVIDE for those kids. It makes me so sick to see so many people have kids after kids and go on welfare (it's there for a reason, but only to help you get back on your feet, not to stay on it for the rest of your life!).

But, if they want to multiply & replenish the earth w/ Duggar kids, and they can do it on their own w/o help, I say... go for it! I personally would be nutty after the 4th kid.....

I have mixed feelings. We never needed welfare to take care of our kids, but I do have medical cards for them because I just couldn't afford what hospitals charge for you to give birth there. I never felt guilty for taking it because being a stay at home mom has allowed me to do volunteer work for my community that probably paid back far more than I ever took out. I think that's how community is supposed to work. We all do what we can.

My problem with the Duggars (not having watched their show, mind you) is that they seem very focused on not just guiding their kids through life, but directing them through life. You WILL do this, rather than you should. I think that kind of tight control can become abusive very quickly. I don't know that they ARE abusive, mind you. I just think that it's too much for me to be comfortable with. So for me, my concern has less to do with the # of kids and more to do with the quality of their parenting.
