WOOHOOO
We had our house torn down today. While a bit emotional, i am SO glad. I was tired of looking at it sitting there molding.
It was the first house our Credit union had ever financed to anyone under 20, LOL, we set a precedent.

Oh, that's got to be a sad day. I would need a drink. And a hug.

Re: WOOHOOO
I'm sorry Erin, I agree with Lori- I would need a drink. In fact you should have two, or three, or.....
How is the new one progressing, will you be in it soon?

Hoping to be in it by the end of the month, IF I don't strangle the builder by then. It is going slow now, but that was expected.

While it must have been hard to watch your old house go, you can look forward to the new one and all the memories you will make in it. Go ahead and have a drink, you deserve it...

Re: WOOHOOO
I don't know why, but I love to see something torn down. Maybe it's just the feeling that you're making room for the new. But I can see where it would be hard to watch when it's yours. Maybe that drink will be a toast to new beginnings.
Re: WOOHOOO
((( I am so sorry))))
I remember when BR finally pulled me away from our rubble ( I was there daily, digging through it) and his cousin bulldozed it and then they burried it.
I still to this day feel that if they had just given me a few more days I could have found something else.
I drove by the old place last month. My bluebonnets are beautiful. My old barn is still there. it was very hard to look at. Its been years since I drove by there. But the kids wanted to see it. its funny how much they remembered about things that happen. Like the tree, the stump they climbed on, The pastures and which horses were in which ones.
I hope your able to build many new memories in your new house. And I hope it feels like a home to you the second you step in the door.

Re: WOOHOOO
That must have been so bittersweet. It would be sad to say goodbye like that, but on the other hand the memories of the hurricane and all that turmoil would have been nice to see fall to bits too.
