Singing
I found this article in our local newspaper and I would like to share it with you folks.
Scientists have determined that when one sings the body releases a natural calming and healing hormone which belong in the endorphin group, Nature's tranqulizers. There are scientific studies on the benefits of singing.
~ People who stutter do not stutter when they sing.
~ People who sing actually are healthier, are sick less and live longer with fewer illnesses, depending on how much they sing.
~ People who sing have better cardiovascular fitness and less stress than those who do not.
~ Singing actually reduces facial wrinkles.
~ Singing promotes the secretion of endorphins, natural tranquilizers which are relaxing and reduce feelings of depression.
~ Singing helps to improve memory
~ Singing is a natural language which is universal in the sense that one need not know what the words are but it still transmits feeling and communication.
~ Singing was deemed by scientists to probably be our first language before normal speech.
~ Singing slows the aging process.
~ Humming or toning as it is called can actually promote all sorts of health benefits and also can help cure some form of deafness.
~ Singing involves both the left and right side of the brain and therefore is a complete mental workout. It is being shown to help in all sorts of brain disorders including Parkinsons, Alzheimer, and other dementias.
~ Singers live longer on average.
~ And too boot, it is free (I added that one)

Re: Singing
I used to always say 'I'd rather be able to sing than to be skinny!'
Of course, I can't sing, nor am I skinny ....... but I do sing, in the car

Re: Singing
ah, just good if you sing. I sing everywhere. I think some of the wildlife around here actually know the sound of my voice now.

Re: Singing
My friend had kiddie songs stuck in her head, so I put on a cd for us. It was Jesus Christ Superstar, and we both sang every word. I can't say how well I sing, but we both enjoyed it very much!!
