Dr appt. Empty Dr appt.

Post by Missy Tue Sep 02, 2008 9:30 am

I have an appt today at 2:45pm. I am asking about the thyroid thing, but also, yesterday, my sinuses were hurting and I at one point had a fever that was as high as 102.7.. so I think I also have a sinus infection. So, later tonite, I will let everyone know how it all works out. Thank you to everyone on the advice for the thyroid info. Hopefully I will get an answer to all my symptoms. =)

i leave in about 45 minutes for the appt, and I have been back and forth with myself on just taking Timmy with and not waking Tim, but I know he will get mad at me. It is the same DR I had when I last got sick, so I feel confident that she will listen to me. I have such a headache, and I am still so tired. I slept until about noon, on and off.. after that, i couldn't let the cartoons babysit Timmy anymore, regardless of how sick I feel. I will be back on later this early evening and let you all know how it works out. I am sure that I will not get any results for a few days/week or so. But I can at least get this infection treated.

I was shocked when they told me I could come in today. I was on hold for nearly 20 minutes before someone picked up, and normally they make an appt for the next day. Glad to be going in and not having another night of being absolutely miserable.

I do have a sinus infection, waiting to go get that antibiotic, and I will get the test results on everything else soon. If there is a red flag, the DR will be calling me by Thursday, if not, then I will call her the week of the 22nd for an appt to talk about why I have the symptoms I do. Stress? Diet? We will go over it all until we find out why.

But one good thing came of the appt. I have lost 7 lbs since I was last in the office in the middle of July. =)

Missy, drink ice cold water, put an ice pack on your face, and take ibuprophen. I know it sounds nuts, but sinus problems run in my family. You will be a LOT more comfortable if your sinuses are less swollen and are able to drain. The ice (on the outside AND inside of your face) will bring the swelling down fast, and the ibuprophen will keep it down. Also, consider taking a decongestant, since that will help the fluid in your sinuses drain and it will take some of the pressure away. Less pressure means less pain. j

I hope you feel better soon.

I had taken a Claritin Redi-tab that my Mom gave me since Timmy and I have a lot of allergy problems, and 1/2 a vicodin that I had left over the other night and all it did was help knock me out... 2 hours later. I just took my first dose of antibiotic... gonna wait for a bit and then take a cool shower. I am drinking something cold now, so that should help some.

I will have to makeshift an ice pack since I dont have one at the moment (all of mine have burst over time) but I will do that before bed so that I can sleep easily. Thanks!

saline nasel spray. I swear by it. the salt in it kills the bacteria.

The DR told me to use it on Bow when he was a few weeks old. and on me since I was BF. it worked like a charm. I got BR to use it. He swears by it now. and my SIL's (2 of them) keep some at all times.

Sorry you feel so bad, and I hope that you get a real awnser soon!
