Dh has Cellulitis

He went to the ER last night because his finger has been hurting, and was swollen twice the normal size. They said it was cellulitis, and gave him a shot of Rocephin, Tetanus shot, and Anti's. He has to take 16 pills a day for 7 days....3 every 6 hours, 2 every 12 hours. The dr said he could have gotten the infection anywhere, since he is forever cutting or scratching himself at work. Most likely source however is Salt Water, lots of bacterias in the water, and on fish, and probably in whatever nasty bait hole he was in. He fishes EVERY weekend, so not surprising.
He is however a whiny assed baby, and I got NO sleep last night because he tossed and turned, and whined. I finally got up and Made him to take the danged Vicodin they gave him, told him it was Ibuprofen so he would take it. So after not sleeping all night, he got up and went to work.......so he can say " I worked all day, whine whine whine"

I'm sorry he is sick. I don't have any experience with cellulitis, but I think all guys whine when they are sick... I know mine does... I don't have time to whine when I am sick, but he sure is able to fit it in. I have to take care of myself when I am sick, yet I have to take care of him when he is sick too... the worst is when we are both sick... no fun there... I also usually go to work when I am sick... I'd have to work harder if I stayed home..

I'm sorry Erin, that sucks for him and even worse for you having to listen to it. I know mine whines whenever he gets a sniffle let alone something really wrong with him. I just want to choke him when he does, I HATE whining from my kids and most certainly a grown adult. That said I hope he is better quickly.

Tell him if he doesn't stop whinning you're going to sell his fishing poles on eBay

He will survive, and I hope you do too!

Cellulitis IS painful, so sorry hubby has it
However, the doctor DID give him something to stop the whining, I say crush it up and put it in his dinner!

My FIL has it and it isn't fun... the whining isn't fun for you though either! I hope it gets better quick!

Ugh!! You poor thing! Hubby had a tooth pulled last week and still hasn't stopped whining! Of course that could be because the darn oral surgeon left something in his gum (we're getting out today!). Of course he has vicodin too and refuses to take it!

Poor guy, I just posted about my daughter getting this from her shots. It is really scarey because of how bad it can get and hurts

I was trying to find the picture but can't find it. My 3 year old had celluitus in her eye on easter. I though it was just allergies because it just kept weeping and then when she woke up from her nap the poor thing looked like quazemoto. Took her to the dr's and they gave the shots and by that evening the swelling had already gone done. Still don't know how it happened. something got in her eye crazy.

OMG, that would frighten me to death! I'm paranoid about the eyes because Zaven had a catarct as a toddler.

I feel for him as I had the same thing in my finger- and it really hurt. However, I know how a hubby can moan and groan as if they are the only person that has ever suffered with this. Its like they say, if men had to give birth- there would only be one child per family. Hope your hubby gets feeling better soon so you can rest!
