Lobster anyone? Empty Lobster anyone?

Post by wormbutt Fri Jul 04, 2008 11:49 am

Just wanted to pop in and say hi. I'm a few days late on this and have already met some wonderful folks on here. I will apologize ahead of time for any silly questions. I don't talk on boards a lot so I'm not familiar with many terms.

I'm a 39 y/o retired EMS chief in Maine. I used to run 911 EMS as career on a 24/48 schedule. Since I've been getting older and I have 2 very young children, I've found staying up for 24 straight and still being able to function with any sense of normalcy is becoming impossible.

I'm now a stay at home mom, or a work at home mom, or something. I stay home, raise the kids and freelance write during nap times for some extra cash.

Being a bzz agent gives me something to do during those times the kiddies are sleeping and I don't have any pending deadlines for articles.

Lobster is my favorite treat, but even living in Maine only 45 minutes from the coast I only get to enjoy it a few times each year.

Glad to have met or be meeting everyone.

Welcome, Wormbutt. I'm a stay at home mom, too. How old are your kids? Mine are 15, 12, 4 in two weeks, and almost 2.

Hi Wormbutt! I have a LobsterGram certificate to use so I should be ordering up some lobster real soon. I actually prefer crab legs, though. Lucky you living so close to all the lobster action. I have always wanted to try a lobster roll. Crayfish, too. I'm a seafood junkie.

Wow, I'm not the only person with a huge age spread on the children! I have a 14 y/o, 17 month old and 6 month old.

It's strange dealing with algebra homework and sesame street at the same time, isn't it?

rofl! my 14 y/o can't stand Elmo and my 17month old adores him and always talks about "bobo" (her word for elmo).

It drove the teen nuts until she found out that the elmo we have says "eia means 'gay' in spanish" and "adois is 'the bomb' in spanish". Its spose to say dia means day and adios means goodbye....someone had fun programming this one. I'd return it, but the 14 y/o loves it and plays it for all her friends...

of course mom doesn't stop her..I crack up..what kind of parent am I and what is my toddler learning???

I outta record it and put it on youtube cept I have never been on utube and have no clue how.

My older two are so funny about the toddler shows. They walk in the room and then slow down and then stop dead and next thing you know they're watching it too. I get the giggles because they can't NOT watch TV, no matter how stupid the show that's on.

omg so true! Funny thing is, hubby does it too. The toddler was watching some show with classical music and music notes and the little characters had to find grammas soup or something..and hubby walked in, slowed down and stood for 20 minutes watching....so I had him, the oldest and the middle child all watching the toddler's show!
