A Flash of Lightning Empty A Flash of Lightning

Post by thebigscott Sun Jun 15, 2008 8:55 am

We took the kids to the water park Friday evening for the weekly free swim. But after about an hour, Quinn was shaky with cold and we decided to change him into dry clothes while Caly waited in line for the slides figuring that she'd finish up about the time we did and then we'd head home. So we sent Caly off to get in line, got Zoe and Quinn out of the pool, and started trying to discreetly strip him out of swimsuit, vinyl swim pants (required by the pool), and swim diaper. We kept a towl over him as best we could, but didn't bother going to a changing room. In a few minutes he was redressed in a dry diaper and romper and we started gathering our gear and watching the big slide in hopes of seeing Caly. But Caly didn't get to slide because just then the loudspeaker announced that the park was closing early because, "A lifeguard saw a flash of lightning."

Quinn is actually the baby's middle name. His first name is Lightning.

That is too funny!

Of course, hearing your kids names, it makes me a little sad that I didn't go with hubby when he wanted to name our last kid Logan Danger. While I thought it would be funny for him to be able to say "Danger is my middle name" and actually be able to say, "No really, look, it is!!", I just couldn't bring myself to fill out the paperwork that would encourage my child to live a dangerous life! funny thing is, he does all his own stunts anyway! (He's 8 Smile)

About 3 days after my tubes were tied Scott and I looked at each other in shock as both of us realized that we should have had one kid whose middle name was Danger. Zaven now says that he's not going to marry a woman who won't let him give his kid Danger as a middle name.

OMG! how funny!! LOL You can always tell him that he shut down a water park when he was a baby!

I wanted to name Bow lighting in some way, cause I was almost struck by lighting when I was pregnant with him. LOL

I just couldnt put another name wiht it to make it sound good.

Speaking of lightening (and how odd you started this post today Karen) we just had another thunderstorm pass through here and I was out on my 23rd floor balcony watching it roll in from the west ............. and I saw a bolt of lightening strike something about 5 or 6 blocks north of me! Wow, I've watched a lot of storms from up here over the last 14 years but I've never seen it strike so close! Immediately as it struck you could see a ball of smoke rise up too! Sure hope it didn't hit someone's house, garage or, heaven forbid, someone!
