Re: So where's your music coming from?
FM radio and I have my favorite 60 cds or so stored on the harddrive.....
Re: So where's your music coming from?
Mine comes from baby boy, who (since before he could sit up on his own) sings almost all day long. He's been serenading me with Siiilen nigh-night, Hoey nigh-nigh, Ba ba ba, Hey! For those of you who don't speak 20 month old, that's a Christmas medly featuring Silent Night and Jingle Bells.
I also listen to the FM radio in the car, and a lot of Harry Potter audiobooks. A few CDs, too. But with money so tight, I don't usually buy music. I could probably download for free. I never really looked into legit sites that did that because so many were ripping off the musicians. (Yes, I know they make way more money than I but I'd be ticked if someone stole the product of my work.)

Re: So where's your music coming from?
I have spent the last couple of years ripping our CD and LP collection to MP3. We are closing in on 90,00 songs now spread out over three separate NAS devices. I decided to spread them out instead of having it all on one drive because I don't really back them up. You can't compress MP3s, so you need to have the same amount of space in your backup as in your live data.
My kids, my wife, and myself all have MP3 players that we copy music to(for when we leave the house), but most of the time we just access the NAS devices from the laptops and PCs around the house.
We always have music going somewhere in the house.

I have songs that I dl'd or copied from my cd's. Then there is the music playlist that I have on my myspace blog, that I will sometimes leave up.
The radio stations here kinda stink, so if I feel like listening to music from home, I will stream in from one of the stations.
But I don't usually get to listen to music. If my son is in the LR and playing games, he gets mad if he can't hear the TV. And if the hubby is home from work, same thing. And I hate the headphones I have, since they make my ears hurt.

Up on the side of the mountain where I reside, you cannot receive radio until around 10 p.m. We have a dish and I can pick up stations off of that during the day. However, most of the time I do not need a radio, I have a John Prine song playing in my head all the time!

LOL Trax! You sound like you're in one of those places in the far north that can only be reached by ship once/year. I need to see this place. I'd make a great crazy woman at the top of a mountain!
Re: So where's your music coming from?
I do reside on the side of a moutain in the interior of British Columbia. I am so elevated challenged I had to come to live here to be closer to heaven. It is a beautiful, peaceful place. Lots of wildlife, so I fit right in. The animals know my voice, I sing John Prine to them; there are deer, eagles as big as thunderbirds, and many mallard ducks. The odd time we get a bears and moose. There is a beautiful red fox that comes to visit, he is so cute. I sit on the steps and chat with him; he trusts me now; he brought his wife and children the other day. Yep, there I am, circled with foxes and loving every moment.
It is a small community of about 350 in the winter. Summer it blossoms to about 950! I bzz everyone! We have roads, power, water, and lunatics. It is no different from any city in North American. The drug trade, like the populaton in summer, blossoms here. But eh, it is British Columbia.
